Metricon was founded in 1976 to build houses, develop land, sell property and construct commercial buildings. It builds in NSW, QLD, SA, and VIC. Metricon is now one of the largest home builders in Australia

Since 2016, Metricon has been named at number one on the Housing Industry Association (HIA) Housing Top 100 list, a list that ranks Australia’s largest 100 residential builders by the number of homes commenced each year. In 2021, it topped the list with 6,052 site starts, including 5,820 detached homes and 232 semi-detached homes. Victoria is Metricon's biggest state by site starts, with 3,974 starts in 2020/2021, while second place Queensland had 1,981 starts.

Metricon also won the naming rights to Metricon Stadium in the Gold Coast, Queensland. The stadium was also the main venue for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Metricon also has strong partnerships with charities such as Canteen and Habitat for Humanity.

First Impression

Metricon is everywhere, on google, my facebook feed, display villages, land estates, on the news. They do appear like one of the most popular choices. They appear trustworthy.

Home Designs are modern yet traditional Aussie style, Build quality looks good.

On the other hand researching the local facebook groups, forums and online review platforms; it appears to be mixed bag. Some great experiences and some really bad experiences.

I do understand that it's very hard make everyone happy in the game of home building, and I am overall happy and positive about going ahead and recommending you Metricon if it fits your design and budget needs,

Detailed Review Analysis

Let's start with Product Review. There are 1000s of reviews of Productreview.com.au website, and most are really good ones.

But if we look at stats, the reviews were a mixed bag in the early years and more recently almost all the reviews are pretty good. This could be strategically done by redirecting users to website only if they are happy with service. It's quite a popular practice to have a review funnel and only redirect happy customers to online review websites.

Also, most reviews are post construction so that supports our theory a bit more.

Irrespective of the fact that they may have a review funnel, there are quite a few positive experiences from home builders around the country. There are a few negative ones and that is completely normal and nothing to be scared about.

We analysed a few more review platforms and the reviews weren't good. Although the number of reviews weren't significant.

Lastly, the sentiments on facebook discussion groups is pretty positive where people share experiences, photos and clarify questions. There are some bad experiences and that is OK considering how they big they are, the staff and site managers can at times make all the difference.

After analysing all the social media platforms, forums, facebook groups and review platforms, we are happy to conclude that Metricon can be one of the most trusted choices.

Home Designs are top notch, build quality is good, warranty is industry standard, financially they are well backed, compliance is not an issue.

We would highly recommend Metricon to our customers!!

The only reason why Metricon might not be the best fit is when you need custom floor plans and home design.
